Experienced in system engineering skills on the messaging systems in general, emerging trends in handling message, message filtering, single, multi-tenant implementations of these applications, Application integration with internal sub systems, message logs, log reporting both from compliance, customer and the operator level reporting needs .
Candidate should be good in understanding the requirements, documenting it, convert them in to a product feature to be implemented by creating necessary user story of the same, work with the technology team, able to verify the development once done; having experience working as a Business Analyst would be in advantage for this role techno functional role, 70% functional and 30 % technical. This person would be the front ending person with the client on the ground.
JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to organize and lead systems engineering efforts on SMS-based managed services to Mobile Network Operator customers. The focus for these efforts comes partly from customer business requirements for new features and partly from product evolution plans. The work content of these efforts spans design of functional, interface, capacity, performance, and availability requirements; guiding software development; and documentation.
Initial assignment is for an SMS Firewall product line. Scope of topics includes:
Spam identification using automated analysis of SMS traffic logs and subscriber spam reports.
Reporting on traffic, SMS filtering, and service quality.
Customer web portal for user management, configuration management, self-provisioning, dashboards, report creation and download, and alarms management.
Administrative portal for account and system management.
Integration with existing system components.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SMS Gateway development experience
Strong knowledge of SS7-based SMS protocols:
? Teleservices layer, including 3GPP TS 23.040
? MAP
? TCAP
? SCCP
Strong knowledge of IP-based SMS protocols, principally SMPP.
Demonstrated ability to systems engineer requirements for software development.
Demonstrated strong problem solving ability.
Demonstrated success in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills including with customers.
Previous experience with MicroStrategy for reporting and web portal.
Previous experience of Agile software development methodology is preferred.
Telecom components based application development exposure
Short message services only like SMS encoding (7/8/16 bit), decoding and SMS routing etc.,
SMS Network Architecture/development exposure
SS7 protocol handling experience (Signalling System #7)
A2P SMS (Application to person SMS), P2P SMS handling experience like SMS arrival, delaying, routing etc.,
MNO and MVNO (Mobile Network Operator and Mobile Virtual Network Operator) environment
MAP MO_FSM (Mobile Originated ForwardShortMessage) MAP SRI_SM (Send Routing Information for Short Message), MAP MT_FSM (Mobile Terminating ForwardShortMessage), SMPP PDUs (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) (Protocol definition unit)
Experience in creating algorithms across spam reports and CCLs, e.g.,
HLR scanning detection in CCL logs: SRI to FSM ratio exceeds a configured threshold
URL counting in CCL logs: e.g., look for www and http:
Exact match to subscriber spam report text content in CCL logsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
